Changing mail settings

You can control which mail services are provided and how they are provided. Some settings apply across services; others are specific to incoming or outgoing mail. Advanced mail settings apply to network, protocol, or host-specific mail settings.

This section tells you how to

Change mail storage and log settings
Disk space limits for storing mail, mail storage location, and mail log file size limits
    Change incoming mail restrictions
Set incoming message size limits, require local "from" address, and reject mail if host doesn't exist in Host List
    Change outgoing mail settings
Allow or hold outgoing mail, send non-delivery warnings
    Change server network settings
How your server processes DNS requests and network timeout controls
    Change mail protocol settings
Turn on and off mail protocols, set response name for each protocol, specify port number for each protocol
    Edit host-specific mail settings
Allow or deny incoming mail from a host, outgoing mail, hold mail, delete mail, schedule connections, enable remote polling (ETRN), and host network settings
