Enable or disable file sharing over TCP/IP | ||||||||||||||||||
You can allow users of AppleShare Client software to log on to the Web & File Server over TCP/IP. AppleTalk connections are always available. You can also provide AppleTalk service on multiple network segments using the multihoming feature of Open Transport. For more information, see Using AppleTalk multihoming. Creating the AppleShare client log-on greeting | ||||||||||||||||||
You can create a greeting that users of AppleShare Client 3.0 or later see when they log on to the Web & File Server. (Users of older versions of the AppleShare Client software cannot receive this greeting. In addition, Web site visitors and some non-Mac OS users cannot receive any messages.) Note: Users who log on to the Web & File Server via FTP receive the greeting that's stored in the FTP logon greeting file. For more information, see Editing FTP messages.
