Moving a job to the top of its queue

    You can give a print job higher priority by moving it to the top of a print queue.

    To move a print job to the top of its queue, follow these steps:
    1 Log on to AppleShare IP Remote Admin.
    2 Make sure the Print Server is running.
    3

    Click the Print server button.


       

    4 Click the print queue that contains the job you want to move.
    5 Click the job you want to print next.
    6 Click Print Next.

Placing a job on or off hold

    You can place a print job on hold while you do another task. When you're ready, you can resume the print job.

    To place a job on hold or to resume printing, follow these steps:
    1 Log on to AppleShare IP Remote Admin.
    2 Make sure the Print Server is running.

    Click the Print server button.


       

    4 Click the print queue that contains the job you want to place on or off hold.
    5 Click the job.
    6 Click Place on Hold or Place Off Hold.

Assigning a job to a printer

    You can assign a print job that is waiting to print to a specific printer. For example, you may want to assign a job that needs to be printed on legal-size paper to a printer equipped with that size paper.

    Note: You cannot reassign a job to another queue or reassign a job that has started to print.

    To assign a job to a printer, follow these steps:
    1 Log on to AppleShare IP Remote Admin.
    2 Make sure the Print Server is running.

    Click the Print server button.


       

    4 Click the print queue that contains the job you want to assign to a printer.
    5 Click the job.
    6 Select a printer from the list of attached printers.
    7 Click Manually Assign Printer.

Removing a printer assignment

    You can remove a printer assignment from a job that is waiting to print. (To assign a printer, see Assigning a job to a printer.)

    Note: You cannot remove a printer assignment once the job has started to print.

    To remove a printer assignment, follow these steps:
    1 Log on to AppleShare IP Remote Admin.
    2 Make sure the Print Server is running.
    3

    Click the Print server button.


       

    4 Click the print queue that contains the job for which you want to remove a printer assignment.
    Click the job.
    6 Click Remove Printer Assignment.

Deleting a print job

    You can delete a print job that is waiting to print or in the process of printing.

    To delete a print job from a queue, follow these steps:
    1 Log on to AppleShare IP Remote Admin.
    2 Make sure the Print Server is running.
    3

    Click the Print server button.


       

    4 Click the print queue that contains the job that you want to delete.
    5 Click the job.
    6 Click Delete Job.
    The Print Server does not notify users that their jobs have been deleted.
    If you delete a job while it's being printed, printing may continue for a short time.
